Job Description
SGS is looking for an Electrical Inspector for a night shift contract in Indianapolis, Indiana. The inspector will be the resident electrical inspector on night shifts. The work schedule will be 4 to 5 nights a week starting in February/March for 4 to 6 weeks and then potentially again in June and August.
  • To conduct inspections in accordance with ISO2859. The client expects that in each batch inspector would sample 315 modules (i.e. 315 from the 8MW, 315 from the 9MW and 315 from the 13MW) with Acceptable Quality Levels at 0% for Critical Defects, 1.5% for Major defects and 4.0% for minor defects.
  • BOM Verification: 24 x 7 verification of each BOM item at workshop during production in order to ensure that only approved BOM items are used for the modules
  • IPQC: 24 x 7 monitoring of vital quality parameters at workshop like Soldering, Lay-up, EL-1, Visual, Lamination, Framing, Calibration of Flash Tester, Flash Test, EL-2, Insulation Test, High Voltage Test and Packaging, RFID, Hi-pot, IR, Wet Leakage, PID, LID etc.
  • Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI): Inspection of each lot as per Client QAP that covers Visual & Dimensional and review of Power Measurement report
  • 100% container loading monitoring
  • Ensure adherence to project specs, engineering drawings, and standards like National Electrical Code (NEC) & International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)
  • Identify quality issues
  • Create detailed inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs)
  • Recording inspection results and any non-conformities
  • Investigating Non-Conformities i.e. identifying causes and assisting in corrective actions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, engineers, and other personnel.

Qualifications
  • Must have one of the IAEI, CEI, CompEx
  • Minimum of five (5) years of electrical inspection experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of industry experience in Oil & gas / Power & Utlity / Construction / Manufacturing, etc..
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Shop / vendor surveillance position
  • Must understanding of E&I processes, codes and standards
  • Ensures electrical/instrumentation installations meet codes (NEC/IEC), specs, and safety standards.
  • Be familiar with ISO2859 (global standard for acceptance sampling in quality control)
  • Schedule - 12 hour night shifts
  • Length of contract: Contract to start as soon as possible for 4 to 6 weeks.
  • Pay Rare is $40-$47/hr + mileage as per the IRS guidelines
  • Expenses (Hotel, flight, meals, etc..) will be reimbursed at cost. Applicable only if job location is outside city of residence and having client prior approval.
