Job description

A premier commercial drywall / steel stud framing organization located in the San Francisco Bay Area is looking to hire a BIM coordinator.

Job Description:

Designer shall work in a team environment to develop accurate, constructible, coordinated, and timely Drywall system models meeting EDT's drafting standards, and fully coordinated with the architectural & structural elements. This designer will also be responsible for providing accurate shop drawings that support the construction team. This position will report to our team of Project Managers. They will also be responsible for interacting with the project managers, project engineers, and field foremen.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage BIM process on specific projects throughout preconstruction and construction
  • Develop and execute Project Specific BIM plans
  • Develop, manipulate, and maintain 3D models for specific projects for use during preconstruction and construction
  • Analyze models provided by Architects and Design Engineers & adjust for internal use in Estimating and Construction Operations
  • Participate in VDC Committee meetings & national conferences
  • Utilize models to support Estimating
    • Perform and Document Quantity take-off reports
    • Generate 3D/4D Site logistics plans
    • Create 4D visualizations to communicate Schedule and sequence of work
    • Create/ Render Virtual mockups
    • Create Presentation material/ visual aids
  • Utilize models to support Construction Operations
    • Manage coordination of work with subcontractors
    • Run clash detection, document clashes, and track
    • Maintain/Assist project team
    • Work with Field Engineers to establish layout points in model
    • Provide regular QA/QC field walks to ensure field installations match coordinated models
    • Record and Report project data for case studies
