This is a Travel position. You must live more than 30 miles from the facility to be considered for this position.

Cardiac OR Surgical TechnologistShift Details
  • 3x12-hour shifts
  • 36 or 48 hours per week
  • DEN rotation
  • Weekends, holidays, and on call per unit need
Position Overview
  • The Adult Cardiac OR cares for a wide variety of patients, including CABG, TAVI, and Heart Failure cases (VADs, ECMO, Artificial Heart, and Heart Transplants)
  • Using a multidisciplinary approach, the OR staff cares for patients of all ages
  • The Surgical Technologist will provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures
  • Assists the surgical team from the scrub position during an operation
  • Responsible for proper care and handling of instruments and facilitating room turnover between cases
  • Maintains sterile technique, safe handling of sharps, and performance of surgical counts as per hospital policy
  • Demonstrates proper handling of solutions and pharmacologic agents under direction of a registered nurse
Job Requirements
  • NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician
  • Two (2) years of recent experience in a cardiac OR
  • Able to scrub and circulate
Certifications
  • BLS - American Heart Association ONLY
Skills
  • NY License - Required
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY) - Required

  • Operating room experience in a Level 1 Trauma - Highly Desired
