Job description

Are you someone who enjoys hands-on work, precision, and operating advanced manufacturing equipment? As a 3rd Shift Thermal Spray Booth Operator, you'll play a critical role in producing high-quality coated components by operating thermal spray equipment. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to follow detailed production and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Primary ResponsibilitiesFollow all production instructions, quality standards, company policies, and safety procedures.Set up, operate, and monitor thermal spray equipment, including HVOF, APS, Cascade, Cold Spray, and other spray systems.Load and unload customer parts while ensuring proper handling throughout the coating process.Start, monitor, and safely shut down assigned spray booths.Maintain proper spray patterns, monitor flame characteristics, and perform routine spray gun maintenance.Prepare and load the correct powder materials for base, flash, and top coats in accordance with company procedures.Adjust spray parameters based on work instructions and process requirements.Complete production documentation accurately and support Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure customer specifications are consistently met.Additional ResponsibilitiesAssist with other production-related duties and special projects as assigned.Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining efficient production operations.Qualifications & SkillsThe ideal candidate will have:Knowledge of thermal spray processes and coating techniques (preferred).Ability to read and interpret production travelers, technical instructions, and engineering drawings.Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, scales, and other precision measuring tools.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.Basic math skills and the ability to work with standard units of measurement.Strong communication and teamwork skills.A commitment to workplace safety and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Physical RequirementsAbility to frequently stand for extended periods throughout the shift.Ability to bend, twist, stoop, climb, reach, and perform repetitive motions.Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.Ability to work safely around industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment.Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.Working EnvironmentThis position is performed indoors in a manufacturing facility that is not climate controlled.
