Lead Commercial Plumber - 3rd Shift

Parker-Arntz Plumbing & Heating, Inc. is a Michigan-based commercial plumbing contractor specializing in large-scale commercial and multifamily new construction and renovation projects across Michigan and Ohio. We are actively growing and are looking for experienced commercial plumbers who take pride in quality work and want long-term stability with a respected contractor.

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Third Shift Lead Plumber to take ownership of night-shift operations and lead a dedicated crew of two. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who excels at working independently, solving complex plumbing challenges, and delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.

Location and Shift:

  • 3rd Shift Full-Time Local and Out of Town Projects (As required)
  • Assignments may require staying overnight and working Monday through Friday at a single location or shorter multi-day assignments depending on project demands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a crew of one to two plumbers on third-shift projects
  • Perform and oversee all phases of plumbing work, including:
    • Plumbing finishes
    • Installation of water heaters of all sizes
    • Underground plumbing
    • Plumbing layout and rough-ins
    • Gas piping
    • Storm drain installation and maintenance
    • Installation of all types of handwashing sinks
    • Sewer scoping, jetting, and machine cleaning
  • Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and job specifications
  • Ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all codes and regulations
  • Coordinate nightly tasks to meet project schedules and deadlines
  • Communicate progress, issues, and material needs to management
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
  • Operate company tools, equipment, and vehicles responsibly

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a journeyman or lead plumber
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and motivate a small crew
  • Extensive hands-on experience with:
    • Finish plumbing and layout plumbing
    • Underground systems and storm drainage
    • Sewer scoping, jetting, and machine cleaning
    • Gas piping systems
    • Commercial sink installations and water heater systems
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on third shift
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background screen
  • A valid driver's license and clear driving record
