Job Summary

Job Title: Center Store 3rd Shift Supervisor

Reports to: Center Store Manager

SUMMARY:

The Center Store 3rd Shift Supervisor is responsible for supporting Center Store leadership in overseeing the overnight stocker team across Center Store departments, including grocery, frozen, dairy, general merchandise, wine & spirits, and health & beauty. This position assists in leading and developing a team of 3rd Shift Stockers that keeps aisles clean and shelves stocked while maintaining store standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team Leadership - Support Center Store leadership in leading, training, and coaching third shift associates across Center Store departments, reinforcing company policies and performance expectations.
  • Guest Service: Provide exceptional and helpful guest service by greeting, acknowledging, and reacting to guest needs throughout the store and across departments.
  • Oversee 3rd Shift Stocking Operations: Ensure shelves are fully stocked and maintained using the first in, first out method during 3rd shift operations.
  • Monitor Inventory: Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure proper pricing on all stocked items.
  • Assist with stock organization and unloading: Help lead team in unloading product deliveries from pallets and maintaining organized stock rooms across multiple departments.
  • Offer Assistance: Assist guests with product inquiries and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Cashier Trained: Ready to step in at the register, and/or support store closing procedures when needed.
  • Enforce Policies & Performance Standards: Document policy violations, conduct disciplinary actions, and complete performance reviews.
  • Ensure Safety & Cleanliness: Oversee sanitation, follow department guidelines, and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Operate Equipment: Safely utilize forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (training provided).
  • Guest assistance: Help guests locate items across departments, suggest products, and provide alternatives when necessary.
  • Issue resolution: Address guest concerns or dissatisfaction with products or service and take action to resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaboration with leadership and team members: Communicate and collaborate with the Center Store leadership team and associates to uphold standards and exceed guest expectations.
  • Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
  • Support the Team: Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and associates.

  • Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and box cutter safety.
  • Ability to learn and safely use the following equipment:  forklift, harness, power jack, walk behind lift, WAV, baler, compactor. 
  • Ability to learn and use various systems, including Point-Of-Sale register system.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. 

  • The associate must possess the ability to stand in place for long periods of time; walk in the store; bend, stoop and kneel regularly.  Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination in order to operate equipment. 
  • The associate must have full range of upper body motion in order to lift stock.  Requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must possess functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and to operate equipment.
  • The position requires the associate to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. 

WORK SCHEDULE:

The Center Store 3rd Shift Supervisor is a full-time position. The work schedule will primarily include night, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
