Material Handler 3rd Shift
Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a 3rd Shift Material Handler in our Turners Falls, MA facility. Individuals will be responsible for a variety of duties including: Performing required operations connected with measuring, inspecting, testing and re-spooling wire and cable in preparation for shipping r its next operation.
Hiring Range: $19.81-23.44/hour, $3.00/hour 3rd shift differential
Job Duties
  • Work from material movement documents, written and verbal instructions, and computer scanning device, records and forms.
  • Transfer wire from one location to another as instructed by movement documents and/or written or verbal instructions either manually or fork truck.
  • Ensure proper transfer of product.
  • Maintain reels and pallets as needed for assigned operations.
  • Weigh and record scrap as required.
  • Detect and report defective materials, malfunctioning equipment, unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations. Maintain equipment and work areas in clean and orderly condition.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-3 month's transferrable experience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Be a team player, enjoy detailed work and willing to learn
  • Position requires knowledge of ordinary arithmetic including decimals, fractions, and simple use of specifications together with use of adjustable measuring instruments.
  • Position requires moderate physical effort consisting of frequently moving average weights and continuous mental and visual attention to repetitive work, requiring constant alertness or activity. Working conditions may expose employee to noise, fumes, dust, etc.
  • PIV Training and certification will be completed after hire.
