Job description

Job TitleFloor Technician-3rd ShiftJob Description SummaryThe Floor Tech will work under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and perform a variety of floor care duties for C&W Services. Such duties shall be in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures of C&W Services.Job Description

Typical Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sweep & mop floors, and other surfaces.
  • Use light and heavy (commercial type) floor machines and shampoo machines including attachments.
  • Spot clean carpet daily and shampoo when directed.
  • Monitors possible defects and reports to supervisors.
  • Performs work: strip and refinish VCT, extract carpet, top scrub and recoat VCT, operate rider scrubber in plant area and additional floor duties as needed.
  • Implementing and maintaining janitorial procedures and programs for areas assigned
  • Review janitorial procedures and recommend changes as needed
  • Build the team by developing hourly janitorial team members

Requirements:

  • Experience as a floor care technician
  • Must be able to take direction, and to function cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Use floor buffer, floor burnisher, rider scrubber, auto-scrubber, carpet spotter, carpet extractor, floor cleaning and finishing equipment.
  • Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
