Job description

Job Description:
Permatex, a leading manufacturer of premium chemical products, is looking for a skilled 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic to keep our production operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably. If you're hands-on, technically sharp, and take pride in preventative maintenance and precision repairs, we want to meet you.
???? What You'll Do
As a key member of our Maintenance team, you will:
  • Troubleshoot and perform complex repairs on filling, packaging, mixing, and building equipment
  • Disassemble, repair, and rebuild production machinery with minimal supervision
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance across facility and production equipment
  • Diagnose electrical systems using a multimeter (24VDC & 120VAC I/O controls)
  • Work with PLC systems, air logic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Interpret blueprints, machine drawings, and schematics to determine root cause
  • Perform advanced electrical, welding, plumbing, and carpentry repairs
  • Fabricate fixtures and parts using machine tools when needed
  • Train and guide other mechanics while maintaining high workmanship standards
  • Initiate work orders and document repairs and abnormal conditions

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of technical trade experience in industrial maintenance
  • Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting background (highly preferred)
  • Experience with PLCs, controls, hydraulics & pneumatics
  • Ability to troubleshoot using a multimeter
  • Experience operating powered industrial trucks (a plus)
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in active manufacturing environments

  • Standing/walking for most of your shift
  • Climbing, bending, lifting, and twisting
  • Working around chemicals, noise, heat/cold, and heights

Compensation Information:
This position pays between $29-$35 an hour depending on experience and job history. There is also a $1/hr differential for 3rd Shift.
