LOCATION: Downers Grove, Illinois

BASE RATE PER HOUR: SHIFT: $36.00

SHIFT: 3rd Shift

HOURS: 9:45 PM - 6AM

Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule especially during holidays. Good attendance and punctuality required.

JOB SUMMARY/ JOB DUTIES:

Maintains plant equipment by interpreting shop manuals and schematic drawings and through verbal instruction from supervision/co-workers.

Must have mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity and ability to use hand and power tools correctly and safely.

Must be able to operate shop equipment such as welders, lathes, grinders, and mills safely and accurately.

Responsible for maintaining plants boilers, hot water systems, HVAC, refrigeration, chiller systems, fire protection, and building repairs.

Ability to retain and recall detailed technical information.

Performs precise measurements and tests.

Must be able to interpret ladder logic and basic control circuits.

Works with minimum supervision.

Works in temperature extremes and high places, climbing ladder, scissor lifts, WAV lifts

On occasion, works in flour/ingredient dust.

Must communicate accurately with co-workers and team members from other departments.

Submits daily document reports.

Basic computer knowledge to provide reports and/or data and documentation in various programs including Microsoft Office, SAP, and E-mail

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to ensure open and clear communication between team members, departments and/or customers

Follow company policies and programs including but not limited to Safety, HAACP, GMP, SQF

Electrical troubleshooting skill sets, use multi meter, change like components

Other Duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES:

Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions and have the ability to write simple correspondence and memoranda.

Must be able to communicate with respect, to all levels of employees.

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to read a ruler and tape measure using Metric and English units of measure.

Must have the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to troubleshoot problems involving several variables.

Assesses own strengths and weaknesses; Pursues training and development opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills; Shares expertise with others.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years' experience in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of plant production machinery preferred.

Be able to competently and safely troubleshoot mechanical issues with mechanical equipment.

Knowledge and experience with basic hand tools is necessary.

Must have basic electrical training or experience equivalent to conduct basic electrical troubleshooting

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to vibration.

The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, hot/cold temperature extremes, outside weather conditions, high industrial noise levels, forklift traffic, high/precarious places and wet/humid environments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to comply with all safety regulations, support plant safety initiatives, proper operating procedures and utilize prescribed safety equipment such as safety eyeglasses, safety shields, gloves, earplugs, respirators, and approved footwear.

Ability to deal with a changing work environment and high-pressure situations. Must be able to work in a team environment.

This position may require overtime as deemed necessary to support operations activities.

Position is contingent on passing Powered Industrial Equipment physical and success completion of licensing requirements.

Candidates will be subject to Electrical Aptitude, PLC and Controls Aptitude, Mechanical Aptitude, and Work Keys Testing.

There will be a 90-day evaluation period to ensure satisfactory performance.

Compensation and Benefits:

The starting rate for this full-time, hourly position is $36.00.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
