Job Details:

Hours: 10:00 pm – 6:30 am (3rd shift)

SUMMARY:  Provide accurate monitoring and reporting of all incoming and outgoing shipments and vehicles while conducting business in a courteous and professional manner.  Survey the facility grounds for suspicious activity and ensure all facility doors are properly secured.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

Provide a visual security presence.
Control outside access to Receiving and Distribution Areas.
Ensure all vehicles requesting entrance have proper prior authorization before allowing entrance.
Visually inspect truck and trailer for any suspicious circumstances.
Carry out verification of all visitor’s and off-shift employee’s authorization to be on premises inclusive of access to back lot.  Report any suspicious activity to the Risk Manager.
Monitor the storage trailers for proper temperature and security seals when loaded.
Monitor inside and outside facility video feeds for suspicious activity.
Verify against the manifest and log; seal numbers, trailer number, destination and driver information.
Perform foot patrol of the facility grounds and verify door security
Promptly report any suspicious activities to the Risk Manager
Monitor grounds for proper parking of vehicles
Perform basic security inspection of grounds
Maintain shift log
Perform scale house duties on 3rd shift as required, in attendant’s absence
Undertake any other duties as required by the company
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Able to carry out essential duties and responsibilities within safety guidelines

·         Excellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills

·         Must have the knowledge to recognize potential safety hazards

·         Must be dependable in nature and capable of working independently to make effective decisions within proper policy and procedures in both crisis and routine situations

·         Able to performing duties in a professional manner while exemplifying a respectful attitude

·         Willingness to work overtime as required

·         Ability to be on your feet throughout entire shift, standing or walking for long periods of time

·         Must be able to follow detailed procedures

            Education and/or Experience:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent required

·         Must be able to efficiently operate a computer and basic email programs

·         Must be able to obtain First Aid, CPR and AED certification

Communication Skills:
·         Must be able to communicate effectively rules and regulations.

·         Must have good customer service skills

Physical Requirements / Environment: 

·         Stand/Walk:  Frequently 3-6 hrs of an 8 hour shift

·         Lift/Carry:  Frequently 1-10lbs, Occasionally 11-50lbs,

·         Rarely 51-100lbs (with use of approved equipment)

·         Environment:  Work in both indoor and outdoor conditions at times exposed to                         live and processed chicken odor.

·         Eyesight:  20/20 (with or without corrective lenses)
