Job description

Florida SouthWestern State College is accepting resumes in search of a Admissions Counselor I  to join our team of exceptional employees. This position is responsible to promote the College externally through community contacts, programs, and functions designed to facilitate recruitment and enrollment of students. By establishing rapport and building relationships, the Admissions Counselor I, Recruitment guides prospects, applicants, and admits through the application and entire enrollment process and provides accurate information regarding admissions requirements, enrollment processes, financial aid and scholarships, and program information.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  • Two (2) years of full-time professional work experience in admissions, customer service, or highvalue relationship-based/consultative sales. Appropriate combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • Ability to travel to businesses, schools and other community contact locations independently. Overnight travel and weekend work are required. 
  • Ability to confidently present to diverse groups as a representative of the College.
  • Ability to confidently promote College programs and the benefits of higher education.
