Production Supervisor, 2nd Shift

Woodland, CA | Full-Time | On-Site
Shift: Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 annually

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead second shift manufacturing operations within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is responsible for supervising production personnel, ensuring daily production targets are achieved, maintaining product quality, and fostering a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has previous leadership experience in medical device manufacturing, with injection molding experience strongly preferred, and a proven ability to lead teams while maintaining compliance with FDA Quality System Regulations, cGMP, and ISO 13485 standards. This position plays a key role in driving productivity, employee development, and continuous improvement across second shift operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise second shift production operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery objectives are achieved.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop production employees while promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Assign daily workloads and adjust staffing to meet production schedules without compromising quality or regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor production performance, identify operational issues, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and throughput.
  • Support manufacturing operations involving medical device assembly, injection molding, and related production processes.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Maintenance, and Operations to resolve production challenges and support manufacturing objectives.
  • Review production schedules, work orders, routers, and manufacturing documentation to ensure accurate execution of production plans.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, training plans, qualification records, and ongoing skills development for production personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR), cGMP, ISO 13485, and company quality procedures.
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering to support process validations, verification activities, equipment changes, and continuous process improvements.
  • Monitor manufacturing metrics including productivity, scrap, downtime, quality, and labor utilization to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions related to production, quality, and equipment issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records, employee documentation, performance evaluations, and timekeeping records.
  • Enforce workplace safety policies and promote a culture of quality, compliance, and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience within a medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Medical device manufacturing experience is required.
  • Injection molding manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations (21 CFR Part 820), cGMP, ISO 13485, and regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supervising production teams in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and production schedules.
  • Experience with ERP or manufacturing scheduling systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supervising silicone injection molding, medical device assembly, extrusion, or cleanroom manufacturing operations.
  • Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of process validation, equipment qualification, and production change control.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering and quality teams to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Previous experience mentoring team leads or developing future production supervisors.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.
