CareVet is offering a guaranteed base and bonus combination of 200k in your first year with Countryside Veterinary Clinic and sister hospital East Hills Veterinary Clinic, as a full-time Veterinarian. This opportunity is available for an experienced, full-time doctor who is looking to join our thriving practices in St. Joseph, MO. Your Role as an Associate Veterinarian:
Countryside Veterinary Clinic and East Hills Veterinary Clinic are seeking a personable and collaborative Associate Veterinarian to join our dedicated team, and all levels of experience will be considered. In this role, you will have the opportunity to practice high-quality medicine and surgery while working closely with our skilled support staff. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain exposure to a heavy and interesting surgical case load. Your expertise and passion for patient care will contribute to the continued success of our clinics.

Responsibilities
  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
