Job Brief
Supervise all aspects of personnel management, including hiring, Supervising, and counseling Drivers and Driver Aides. Develop and implement an on-going safety and training program in accordance with company goals. Oversee Article 19A compliance.

POSITION DUTIES:
  • Screening, interviewing, and hiring of full time and hourly drivers and escorts in cooperation with the Human Resources Department; Supervise these employees in the performance of their duties completing employee performance evaluations annually.
  • Organize and oversee the D.M.V. Article 19A Program, performing required procedures as needed.
  • Supervise and oversee all CPT staff LITMOS program, ensuring all staff are compliant with agency required trainings.
  • Maintain Driver and Escort files including reports and facts pertinent to Union related hearings. Assist with disciplinary hearings with the Amalgamated Transit Union.
  • Supervise the summons program with Parking Violations Bureau and the annual review of the vehicle summary schedule issued by the for issuance of policy renewal insurance card performed by the Confidential Secretary.
  • Reporting and investigating motor vehicular accidents/incidents, coordinating documentation and findings with the Director of Fleet Operations, The Director of Transportation, Insurance Company, and Broker. Maintain the accident database.
  • Develop and conduct training programs inclusive of the Pre-Service Orientation and the ongoing safety training, which includes employee safety meetings, distribution of materials, and training classes on all relevant topics appropriate for our industry.
  • Investigate and document incidents and injuries to both individuals and employees. Coordinate results of investigations with appropriate agency personnel and committees.
  • Attend both Incident Review and Safety Committee Meetings as required.
  • Develop a program for monitoring and replacing safety kit and wheelchair Securement equipment.
  • Participate in the Evening/Weekend On-Call Rotation
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree or Equivalent Experience
  • 5 years supervisory experience in a transportation environment
  • Basic proficiency with a P.C. and Demonstrated communication skills
  • NYS Class B CDL Driver's License with passenger and air brake endorsements
  • NYS DMV Article 19A Examiners License
  • Available 1-2 days/weekend/month
