Position Overview
We are looking for high school seniors and college students to join us for an exciting opportunity to teach K-9 students the fundamentals of computer science and programming. The instructor is responsible for delivering the iCode curriculum while creating a fun, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
This is a great opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience, develop leadership skills, and build strong communication abilities.
Classroom management and curriculum training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Teach and educate students according to curriculum and guidelines provided by iCode.
Manage a fun, safe, and orderly classroom environment at all times.
Provide feedback on class material and student progress through weekly status reports.
Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on student performance and experience.
Assist with marketing events, including workshops, community outreach, and local promotions (a plus).
Support inbound and outbound calls, including responding to inquiries, assisting with enrollment, and providing general program information.
Qualifications
Positive attitude, outgoing personality, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Interest in or experience with robotics, gaming, coding, or digital arts.
Ability to work with students ranging from Kindergarten through 9th grade.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Experience with computing languages such as Scratch, HTML, or Python.
Experience in tutoring or working with students in a camp or educational setting is a plus.
Comfortable communicating with parents and handling inbound/outbound calls.
Interest or experience in marketing events, community engagement, or promotions is a plus.
