Commercial Roofing Sales Representative - Roofing Systems - Base Salary to 100k/year - Birmingham, AL

  • Our client, a manufacturer of specialty commercial building materials serving the commercial and industrial construction markets, is seeking a Commercial Roofing Sales Representative to support business development and specification activity throughout the region.
  • This role focuses on specification-driven commercial roofing sales, working closely with roofing consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners on technically oriented roofing system solutions for commercial and industrial projects. The Commercial Roofing Sales Representative will support project development from specification through installation, while serving as a technical resource on roofing assemblies, system performance, approvals, and constructability.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with roofing consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, facility owners, and building envelope professionals throughout the assigned territory
  • Support specification development and project design for commercial roofing systems and related building envelope solutions
  • Assist customers with roofing system selection, approvals, constructability discussions, technical documentation, and product application support
  • Identify and develop commercial roofing project opportunities with consultants, architects, contractors, and ownership groups
  • Support specification positioning and negotiated project opportunities within the commercial roofing market
  • Conduct job site visits, design meetings, project walkthroughs, and contractor support activities throughout the territory
  • Coordinate with internal technical, operations, and supply chain teams regarding pricing, lead times, project requirements, and execution
  • Track project activity, specifications, bid opportunities, and customer interactions within CRM systems
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, roofing trends, and customer needs within the commercial roofing industry
  • Represent the organization at industry meetings, association events, trade shows, and customer presentations

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience within commercial roofing, roofing systems, building envelope products, or specialty construction materials
  • Experience supporting specification-driven sales involving roofing consultants, architects, engineers, or commercial contractors
  • Technical understanding of commercial roofing systems, assemblies, specifications, or waterproofing applications
  • Experience developing relationships with consultants, contractors, designers, and commercial construction decision makers
  • Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and technical project documentation
  • Experience managing project pipelines, bid activity, and customer communication through CRM systems
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned regional territory, including occasional overnight travel
