Why Praxis

Praxis Health has spent the past 50 years building a different kind of healthcare organization — one centered on relationships, community connection, and sustainable physician practice. As the Pacific Northwest's leading independent healthcare network, we remain deeply committed to preserving the personal side of medicine while evolving thoughtfully toward value-based care models that better serve both patients and providers.

Unlike large corporate health systems, Praxis empowers physicians with meaningful clinical autonomy, collaborative leadership, and operational support that allows providers to focus on what matters most: caring for people well. Our culture is grounded in trust, collegiality, and the belief that exceptional patient care begins with supporting physicians as people — not productivity units.

High Lakes Health Care reflects that philosophy in action. Recognized as Central Oregon's "Best Medical Group" for eight consecutive years, High Lakes has become a trusted presence throughout the region by delivering compassionate, relationship-centered care with a strong commitment to innovation, teamwork, and physician well-being.

Why Bend, Oregon

Tucked against the eastern slope of the Cascade Mountains, Bend offers a lifestyle that feels both invigorating and deeply restorative. Mornings often begin with mountain views and crisp high-desert air, while evenings end beside the Deschutes River, at a neighborhood brewery, or under the glow of an alpine sunset. With more than 300 days of sunshine annually, Bend has become one of the Pacific Northwest's most beloved destinations for those seeking year-round outdoor adventure balanced with a vibrant and welcoming community.

Yet what makes Bend truly special is not simply its scenery — it is the rhythm of life here. Physicians are drawn to the community for its balance: nationally recognized skiing, hiking, cycling, fly-fishing, and golf exist alongside exceptional restaurants, locally owned coffee shops, live music, art galleries, and an increasingly sophisticated culinary scene. Whether you are raising a family, pursuing outdoor passions, or simply seeking a more connected and intentional pace of life, Bend offers the rare opportunity to build a fulfilling medical career without sacrificing the lifestyle that inspired you to choose the Pacific Northwest in the first place.

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
  • Passion for relationship-centered, community-based care
  • Commitment to collaborative outpatient medicine
  • Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach
  • Interest in practicing within an independent physician-led organization
