Retail Pharmacy Technician | Westerville, OH | 13 Weeks Contract

We’re seeking an experienced Retail Pharmacy Technician to join a patient-focused pharmacy team in Westerville, OH. If you’re organized, detail-oriented, and can keep things running smoothly even when the prescription queue starts getting ambitious, this could be your next great opportunity.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists with daily retail pharmacy operations under appropriate supervision
  • Receive, enter, process, and prepare prescription orders accurately
  • Review prescription information for completeness and identify discrepancies for pharmacist review
  • Prepare and package medications according to established pharmacy procedures
  • Label prescriptions accurately and ensure proper patient and medication information
  • Assist with prescription pick-up and provide professional customer service
  • Process insurance claims and assist with resolving routine billing or coverage issues
  • Communicate with patients regarding prescription status, refill requests, and pharmacy services within scope of practice
  • Maintain accurate patient and prescription records in the pharmacy system
  • Assist pharmacists with inventory management, medication stocking, and product organization
  • Monitor medication inventory and communicate shortages, expired products, or discrepancies
  • Maintain clean, organized, and secure pharmacy work areas
  • Follow medication storage, handling, security, infection prevention, and safety requirements
  • Assist with controlled-substance procedures according to applicable laws and facility policies
  • Support medication synchronization, refill coordination, and other pharmacy services as assigned
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other pharmacy team members to maintain efficient workflow
  • Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA and all applicable pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Retail Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Active Ohio Pharmacy Technician registration/license, as applicable
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification such as PTCB or NHA, preferred or required by facility
  • Strong knowledge of prescription processing, medication terminology, pharmacy workflow, and patient safety
  • Experience with pharmacy computer systems and prescription processing software
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy retail pharmacy environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and medication safety
