About the Role:
A Security/Access Control Technician is responsible for the installation, termination, configuration, and troubleshooting of electronic security systems in commercial, industrial, and mission critical environments. This role supports the deployment of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems. Technicians must understand both field device installation and head end panel work while adhering to strict security and safety standards.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Install and terminate access control devices including card readers, keypads, request to exit devices, door contacts, electric strikes, and magnetic locks.
  • Install and configure CCTV cameras, NVRs, DVRs, and video management systems.
  • Run and terminate low voltage cabling including CAT5e, CAT6, composite, and security wire.
  • Install and service access control panels and head end equipment.
  • Program and troubleshoot access control and security management software.
  • Mount devices, drill penetrations, and properly secure hardware to various structures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, door schedules, and wiring schematics.
  • Test system functionality and troubleshoot connectivity, power, and device communication issues.
  • Coordinate with IT teams for network connectivity and system integration when required.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas on active construction sites.
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and site specific security protocols at all times.
  • Industry certifications and manufacturer panel certifications are a strong plus including Lenel, S2, Software House, Bosch, AMAG, Genetec, or similar enterprise security platforms.
Required Qualifications:
  • Reliable transportation and ability to report to the jobsite on time daily.
  • Valid driver’s license if required for the role.
  • Full PPE including hard hat, safety vest, steel toe boots, gloves, and safety glasses.
  • Basic hand tools and trade specific tools as required.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to take direction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or extended shifts as needed.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Ability to work in secure or badge access environments.
