Job description

CMS Water Solutions is hiring a Water Treatment Technician for the greater Central OH region.  This position will ensure that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other waste water treatment equipment are functioning properly.

As a local partner, we are committed to taking on projects of any size, offering turnkey, in-house solutions for all your water and building needs—from design to installation and ongoing preventative maintenance. Our team utilizes advanced water treatment technology and deep industry expertise to ensure your water systems are efficient, reliable, and properly maintained. 
Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 years relevant experience pertaining to water treatment systems, specifically HVAC systems such as hot and chilled water loops, hot water boiler, cooling towers and chillers.
Required Certificates, Licenses & Registrations: EPA Refrigerant handling certification required. OSHA certification a plus. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record and background check.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Be technically competent and maintain a current knowledge in water treatment chemicals and technologies.
  • Install and program controllers, pumps, and other needed equipment.
  • Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients.
  • Maintain and enhance water treatment programs at customer locations.
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to maximize efficiency for client service requirements.
  • Create service reports for all tasks performed at customer location.
  • Be responsible for time and commitments. Be able to complete and track tasks.
  • Work in a team environment; understanding that each member of the team is valuable and relied upon.
  • Develop and maintain current product knowledge.
  • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
  • Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
  • Manage account services through quality checks, service work and other follow-up activities.
  • Identify and resolve client concerns.
  • Provide regularly scheduled water treatment service, including but not limited to equipment functions and lab testing.
  • Arrange for or provide labor to support the water treatment solutions implemented.
Required Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of water treatment chemicals and water treatment chemical management.
  • Working knowledge of water treatment pumps operations and installations.
  • Working knowledge of water treatment controllers operations and installation.
  • Working knowledge and background with metal and plastic piping for repairs and installation.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical.
  • Ability to properly test loops and provide the proper chemicals and chemicals levels.
  • Ability to openly communicate with customers and office team.
  • Ability to perform work order tasking reports and properly fill out tasking sheets.
  • Ability to consult with customers and provide pro-active solutions, both written and verbal.
  • Understand HVAC systems and water treatment solutions.
Physical Activities and Environment:
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is continuously required to use fine finger movements, read/comprehend, write, and reason and analyze. The associate is frequently required to bend, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, handle objects, push/pull, reach above shoulder level, stand, carry and lift loads over 50 pounds, perform calculations, and communicate orally. The associate is in frequent contact with chemicals/biological agents and water / other liquids. The noise level in the work environment is consistent with construction activities, and may be extreme at times.
Minimum physical requirements:
  • Be able to remove and replace a 24’ ladder on top of a service van.
  • Be able to place a 24’ ladder on the side of a building safely.
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs above their heads.
  • Be able to pull 30 lbs up the side of a building 20’ with a rope.
  • Be able to kneel down and sit down on the floor for 30 minutes.
  • Be able to bend down and reach your ankles.
  • Be able to work in a confined space for minimum of one hour.
  • Be able to carry 20 lbs. on back and go up a 24’ ladder.
Compensation:  $30.00 - 45.00 commensurate on skills and experience.
