Student Assistant 2-Waterman Horticulture and ENR

Student Position 2: Students will help with planning, planting, maintenance and harvest of research plots and Hope Garden at Waterman. Normal working hours will be 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Students may be asked to work alternate hours to aid participants in Hope Garden to harvest vegetables during picking sessions. Students will be required to work outside during all weather conditions, pull weeds, move mulch, and dress properly to accomplish these tasks. Students will gain experience in the safe operation of agricultural equipment and techniques.
Student Interns: Student interns will be primarily working in the Hope Garden but will assist Manager with any and all tasks needed at Waterman. Student interns will be assigned Warm or Cool Season plantings in the Hope Garden. Interns will be responsible for planning , planting, maintenance, and harvest of crops. Interns will be responsible for course requirements and Waterman operational demands.
Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. May coordinate activities for other student employees. Requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment. Requires previous experience and knowledge or skill in student assistant role. Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values.
