Description
Grow the Volunteers Who Grow Our Mission
At Transitions Hospice, we don't just manage care - we protect dignity, comfort, and the moments that matter most. We've reimagined hospice to be something different: compassionate, unhurried, and built around the whole person. That means cultivating a volunteer community that extends our reach, deepens our impact, and brings an extra layer of human connection to patients and families when they need it most.
If you're a people-first organizer who finds purpose in building teams that serve others, this is your role.
What You'll Do
As Coordinator of Volunteer Services, you'll be the architect of our volunteer program - recruiting, training, and supporting a team of dedicated volunteers who show up for patients, families, and staff across our growing locations. Your day-to-day includes:
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive volunteer training and orientation program
  • Recruiting, educating, and selecting volunteers through a minimum of three formal recruitment sessions per year
  • Establishing volunteer service needs in collaboration with patients, families, caregivers, and the full hospice care team
  • Supervising and evaluating volunteers in a timely, supportive, and constructive manner
  • Maintaining current volunteer personnel files and monthly program statistics
  • Reevaluating and improving the volunteer program on an ongoing basis
  • Coordinating regular support and education meetings for the volunteer team
  • Representing Transitions Hospice volunteer services to individuals, community groups, and partner organizations
  • Participating in budget preparation for program development as needed
  • Actively participating in quality assessment and performance improvement teams and activities

Benefits We Offer
  • Competitive salary
  • Medical / Dental / Vision Insurance plans
  • Life Insurance
  • 401(k) matching
  • Company Equipment
  • Paid Time Off

Why Choose Transitions Hospice?
Volunteers at Transitions aren't an afterthought - they're an essential part of how we care. As Coordinator of Volunteer Services, you'll shape a program that brings real comfort to patients and real relief to families, while building a community of people united by the same purpose. We support the people who build our mission from the ground up.
