Job description

ComResource is looking for a Data Modeler.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Handle large-scale, enterprise-wide domains spanning cross-functional data.
  • Define and enforce data modeling standards, naming conventions, and governance practices.
  • Align models with enterprise data architecture and business strategy.
  • Translate business requirements into structured data models.
  • Ensure models support data integration, consistency, and reusability.
  • Embed data quality rules, lineage, and metadata management into designs.
  • Develop and support standard processes to harvest data from various sources and perform data blending to develop advanced data sets, analytical cubes, and data exploration.
  • Develop queries, data exploration, transformations, and basic statistical methods using Python scripts.
  • Support Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services workflows and Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services Tabular Models.
  • Develop complex Excel spreadsheets including formulas, macros, and VBA code.

Essentials:

  • Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture in Databricks.
  • Hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms including Databricks, Snowflake, and cloud data warehouses.
  • Knowledge of dimensional modeling (Kimball) and/or Data Vault.
  • Experience with MS SQL and Python.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, VBA, Power Pivot, and Pivot Tables.
  • Strong technical and communication skills with the ability to learn and navigate large, complex environments.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills for effective and timely resolution of system issues.

Desired:

  • Experience with SharePoint.
