The City of The City of Dublin is proud to possess a team of highly trained and passionate Swim Lesson Instructors who are dedicated to teaching safety and swimming skills to a variety of ages and abilities.

Under the direction of the Aquatics Programming Coordinator, these individuals would provide competent, safe instruction using recognized lead-up skills as established by the American Red Cross. The indoor pools at the Dublin Community Recreation Center operate year round, while the Dublin Community North and South outdoor pools are open during the summer season. Scheduling/Availability The scheduling process is very flexible and we offer a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends Preferred candidates will have availability to work year-round, as well as during the day on weekdays Beyond the Paycheck Refer a Friend Bonus Program ($100 per successful employee referral) Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS) enrollment and contributions Potential Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility Support through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 20% discount on classes and free textbooks at Franklin University DUBLIN R3 offering incentives such as individual membership to the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC) and employee recognition/appreciation events The City maintains the cost of team member certifications and training time is paid ($40.00-$100.00 value)

All certifications achieved belong to the team member and are valid for two years. Discounted/free employee participation in select City events (Memorial Golf Tournament, Dublin Irish Festival, etc.) Uniforms provided Career mapping and growth opportunities Examples of Duties Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Utilization of flexible teaching approaches that are adaptable to the age, experience and ability of participants to meet lesson objectives Provide safe and competent instruction for all participants Teach with encouragement and positive reinforcement Begin and end all lessons on time Return all materials to their proper place at the conclusion of class Maintenance of class/participant records with updates made at the conclusion of every lesson Ability to communicate appropriately and professionally with participants and parents Typical Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age Current certification as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Current certification in American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire Must complete annual BCII Fingerprint Background Checks (the cost of this is covered by the City) Preferred Qualifications Availability to work year-round and during the day on weekdays Current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguarding Supplemental Information: All positions within this job classification have been designated as Casual in nature and all employees serving in such positions are considered to be Casual Employees.
