Job description

Registered Nurse – Hematology/Oncology

Schedule - 12-hour shifts (Day/Night or Night) - Rotating schedule with variable weekends based on unit needs

Assignment Details - Contract Length: Not specified - Guaranteed Hours: Not specified

Requirements - Minimum 2 years total RN experience - Must have Medical-Surgical oncology experience - At least 1 inpatient hematology/oncology experience documented - Current acute-care experience in the specialty applied for - Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted - Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ONS chemo certification required - Experience with telemetry, IV therapy, blood product administration, and management of tumor lysis and sepsis

Roles & Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and blood dyscrasias. - Administer high volume of blood products and IV antibiotics while ensuring infection prevention protocols are followed. - Monitor and manage electrolyte levels and abnormal lab values, including recognizing signs of sepsis. - Utilize telemetry for dysrhythmia interpretation and maintain competencies in central line management, blood draws, and feeding tube management. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver holistic patient care.

Compliance / Notes - Orientation: First week is Monday to Friday dayshift; second week consists of 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor. - Background checks, drug screens, and compliance with RTO policies are required. - Parking options include various permits available for purchase. - Scrub policy or color specifics not mentioned.
