Keeley Construction is looking to hire a Safety Engineer for our Civil Infrastructure Group. This individual must be willing to travel at 100%.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support and administer comprehensive safety programs to create a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
  • Enforce safety policies, procedures, and guidelines that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards, as well as company-specific safety policies.
  • Regularly review safety protocols and make necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
  • Identify and assess potential safety hazards and risks in the workplace.
  • Support development of strategies to mitigate or eliminate safety risks and prevent accidents or incidents.
  • Provide safety training to employees, contractors, and relevant personnel.
  • Promote a safety-conscious culture by conducting workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns.
  • Lead investigations into workplace accidents or incidents to determine causes and preventive measures.
  • Develop incident reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities, equipment, and work sites to identify and address safety deficiencies.
  • Ensure that safety standards are maintained, and corrective actions are taken as necessary.
  • Develop and update emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols.
  • Collaborate with emergency response teams and ensure readiness for potential disasters.
  • Collect and analyze safety-related data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and opportunities to enhance safety performance.
  • Prepare and present safety reports to senior management.
  • Assess the suitability of safety equipment and personal protective gear.
  • Recommend the procurement of appropriate safety gear and ensure its proper use.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging safety technologies.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in safety processes and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience supporting similar responsibilities as listed above.
