Job description

Overview IMBHR conducts cutting‐edge studies focused on assessment, prediction, and prevention of mood and behavioral disorders in youth, including self‐injury. Strengths include expertise in clinical assessment, longitudinal modeling, measurement‐based care, and computational approaches to risk prediction. The fellowship program provides mentorship from Dr. Eric Youngstrom and a multidisciplinary team, allowing fellows to lead independent yet collaborative projects that align with shared interests and their own career goals. Job Description The position is a 7‐year appointment under the guidance of an established RI principal investigator or senior research scientist. Fellows design experiments, develop protocols, and conduct research while preparing for independent scientific careers and external funding. Essential Functions Design experiments, develop protocols, and conduct research under faculty mentor guidance. Assist in training and supervising technical support staff in specific techniques essential to the research program. Record and analyze data generated by the research study. Assist in developing hypotheses for further investigation based on study results. Support the preparation of scientific and technical papers for peer‐reviewed journals. Present findings at local and national research forums. Collaborate with ongoing research efforts at NCH and the Ohio State University. Work toward research independence, preparing proposals for and securing funding from external granting agencies. Qualifications PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field of science, required. Research experience from a PhD program, required. Excellent laboratory technical skills. Excellent computer and data‐analysis skills. Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods. Effective interpersonal skills for interaction with scientists, physicians, and laboratory colleagues. Ability to proactively manage and drive projects. Physical Requirements Occasionally bend, twist, climb stairs or ladders; lift/carry 11–20 lbs. Frequently lift/carry 0–10 lbs; stand, walk, sit continuously. Continuous audible speech, color vision, computer use, depth perception, hand use (grasping, gripping, turning), hearing acuity, interpreter data, peripheral vision, problem solving, reach above shoulder, repetitive hand/arm use, sight (far/near), sitting; squat/kneel.
