Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Have full knowledge and accountability for companywide compliance with HUD Handbook 4350.3; Public Housing Handbook 7465.1 and CMHA occupancy policy where applicable; FMHA Rural Housing; HUD Section 8 projectbased HAP agreements; Housing vouchers; IRS Section 42 code and state agency LIHTC regulations; and other related compliance regulations.
  • Assist Compliance Manager with audit processes and systems to ensure ongoing adherence and accountability to the Affordable Housing policies and procedures.
  • Conduct random audits for program compliance. Conduct annual internal audit for all properties to include file review and program compliance. Conduct semiannual audits to ensure resident files are in proper order and that affordable compliance requirements are being met.
  • Train new onsite Occupancy Specialist staff and provide refresher training as needed.
  • Maintain communication with regulatory agencies on behalf of the Company.
  • Review all move in files and provide response to sites within Company policy time frame.
  • Field incoming phone calls from onsite staff with questions directly related to income and asset eligibility, EIV, and their communityspecific compliance requirements.
  • Provide OneSite compliancerelated user technical assistance to managers and occupancy specialists.
  • Monitor compliance with AFHMP.
  • Assist Compliance Manager with submission of quarterly special claims for all properties.
  • Attend seminars and other training/education opportunities as requested.
  • Review all move in files and provide response to sites within Company policy time frame.
  • Assist Compliance Manager with submission of monthly special claims for all properties.
  • Field incoming phone calls from onsite staff with questions directly related to income and asset eligibility, EIV, and their communityspecific compliance requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Required Skills/Abilities:
  • This is a remote position.
  • Ability to travel up to 80%.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service; verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, OneSite, and other related software.
  • Education and Experience:
  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of property management experience required.
  • Tax Credit Specialist designation preferred, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
