Radiology Technologist (PRN)

Under the direct supervision of the Imaging Coordinator, the Radiology Technologist performs radiology procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the Imaging Team. Prepares and maintains radiology supplies, instruments and equipment related to these procedures. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities. The Radiology Technologist reports to the Imaging Coordinator and/or Imaging Services Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs radiology Technologist functions under the direct supervision of the Imaging Coordinator.
  • Prepares and maintains supplies, x-ray log, equipment, and room for radiology procedures.
  • Demonstrates competency in area of practice.
  • Assists, as required, in pre-admission testing with blood draws and EKG’s.
  • Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate corrective and/or preventive measures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and organization related information.
  • Supports the hospital’s environment by acknowledging the presence and dignity of all with whom one communicates.
  • Interacts with diverse populations who may be under considerable situational stress.
  • Participates in and supports Quality Assurance and Improvement Program.
  • Demonstrates willingness to learn and accept changes.
  • Adheres to Universal Precautions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Reports any problems to the Imaging Coordinator and/or Imaging Services Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current Radiology Technologist license in the State of Ohio.
  • Graduate of accredited School of Radiology Technology.
  • Radiology Technologist experience of at least two (2) years preferred. Outpatient surgery experience preferred.
  • C-Arm and portable x-ray equipment experience required.
  • CPR certification within three (3) months of hire and keeps certification current.
