Job description


Alliance Workforce Solutions is partnering with a leading organization to identify an experienced Logistics Manager for a confidential opportunity. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an assigned distribution facility while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient warehouse performance.


The Logistics Manager will lead warehouse operations, drive operational excellence, maintain inventory accuracy, develop team members, ensure customer satisfaction, and uphold all safety and regulatory requirements.


This role requires a strong operational leader who can build accountability, develop employees, improve processes, and ensure the team consistently delivers results. The successful candidate will create a culture where employees understand expectations, take ownership, and execute effectively—even in the manager’s absence.


Essential Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop warehouse associates and supervisors.
  • Create a culture focused on accountability, ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular employee coaching, feedback discussions, and performance evaluations.
  • Address performance issues through effective coaching and corrective action.
  • Ensure expectations, priorities, and responsibilities are clearly communicated.
  • Develop employees for future leadership opportunities.
  • Promote professionalism and strong communication throughout the operation.


Warehouse Operations Management

Oversee daily warehouse operations, including:

  • Receiving and put-away
  • Inventory control
  • Picking and packing
  • Shipping operations
  • Returns processing
  • Kitting and assembly
  • Value-added services


Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring customer orders are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Optimizing labor utilization while maintaining service levels.
  • Identifying operational challenges and implementing solutions.
  • Ensuring processes are followed consistently.


Inventory Accuracy & Control

Maintain inventory integrity through:

  • Cycle counting
  • Inventory investigations
  • Root cause analysis
  • Inventory reconciliation
  • Accurate WMS transactions


Drive corrective actions to eliminate recurring inventory discrepancies and improve inventory accuracy.

Client Service & Customer Support

Serve as the operational leader supporting customer accounts.

Partner with internal teams to:

  • Resolve customer concerns.
  • Investigate discrepancies.
  • Follow customer-specific procedures and requirements.
  • Support special projects.
  • Assist with customer audits and facility visits.


Maintain a customer-focused approach while balancing operational efficiency.

Quality & Regulatory Compliance

Ensure facility compliance with:

  • Company standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • GDP/GMP requirements
  • FDA regulations
  • Customer work instructions
  • OSHA standards

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining audit readiness.
  • Investigating operational deviations.
  • Implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Safety Leadership

Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities include:

  • Daily safety awareness.
  • Facility safety inspections.
  • Equipment inspections.
  • Incident investigations.
  • Corrective action implementation.
  • OSHA compliance.

Ensure all employees follow proper safety procedures when operating warehouse equipment.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

Monitor and improve key operational performance indicators, including:

  • Shipping accuracy
  • Inventory accuracy
  • Receiving productivity
  • Labor productivity
  • Customer service level performance


Identify opportunities for improvement, reduce process variation, and implement standard work practices.

Communication & Reporting

Maintain consistent communication with leadership and internal partners.

Provide proactive updates regarding:

  • Operational delays
  • Staffing challenges
  • Customer risks
  • Inventory concerns
  • Equipment issues
  • Safety incidents

Escalate concerns early and provide solutions before service failures occur.


Documentation & Process Management

Ensure accurate completion and organization of operational documentation, including:

  • Receiving records
  • Shipping documentation
  • Inventory adjustments
  • Training records
  • Incident reports

Maintain documentation necessary for compliance and operational excellence.

Facility Management

Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready facility.

Oversee:

  • Warehouse housekeeping
  • Equipment maintenance coordination
  • Dock operations
  • Storage optimization
  • Overall facility appearance

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics leadership experience.
  • Proven experience managing warehouse teams.
  • Experience utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical device, or regulated 3PL environments.
  • Knowledge of GDP/GMP requirements.
  • Experience supporting FDA-regulated operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
