Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ER Holding unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.

Details
  • ER Holding unit in an academic hospital setting
  • Patient population spans all age groups: pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
  • Epic EMR used for documentation
  • Key clinical skills include telemetry and dysrhythmia management, PCU/stepdown care, IV insulin and heparin protocols, renal failure management, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, blood product administration, tracheostomy management, wound care/wound vac, and non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen)
Requirements
  • Active OH or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or Supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co-worker references are not accepted
Additional Information
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Former employees of the facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a 6-month separation
  • RTO must be requested upfront and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration
  • Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting the position — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet as quickly as possible upon receipt
  • Multiple parking permit options are available for purchase through CampusParc at osu.campusparc.com, ranging from garage access to surface lot options with shuttle service
