Job description

Position Type: Hourly
$15.29 - $21.87 Hourly. Wages are based on education; a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. CORS pays for educational advancement for motivated employees with a heart for service.
Description: Work with families to assess their strengths and support them in setting and meeting individual and family goals. Guide families toward healthy self-reliance. Nurture positive relationships with families as they prepare their children for successful transitions to kindergarten and beyond. Use the many tools available through the Head Start/Early Head Start programs to identify obstacles and surmount them.
  • Recruit, complete and maintain enrollment with eligible families, develop a rapport and provide service through ongoing interactions.
  • Initiate Family Strengths Assessments and Family Partnership Agreements. Provide ongoing support, supporting them in accomplishing their identified goals.
  • Practice real time data entry to ensure program integrity.
  • Partner with local community resources and agencies.
  • Advocate for the families, leading them toward healthy self-reliance.
  • Encourage and support families to ensure completion of their child's health screenings.
  • Assist families who need help to find a medical and dental home.
  • Guide families to utilize available services, assist them in identifying crisis intervention services and continued support.
  • Team with teachers to ensure all communications enabling families and children to succeed in the program flow seamlessly.
  • Plan and co-facilitate Parent Meetings and Family Fun Nights.

All positions require a background check, drug test, and physical.

  1. Education and Training: Within 18 months of hire, at a minimum, obtain a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field. CORS may provide in-house credentialing or pay for a preapproved course of study. Associate's degree in a related field (or an Associate's degree with at least 18 credit hours in studies related to social work, human services, family services, or counseling) preferred.
  2. Work Experience Required: If no related degree or credential is held at the time of hire, 2 years social services experience is required.
  3. Special Conditions: Ability to lift 40 lbs. and work flexible hours. A valid driver's license and a driving history acceptable to agency insurer. Must have excellent interviewing and active listening skills. Must be knowledgeable about drug culture in our communities.
