Job description

Job Title: Payroll Clerk / Payroll Processing Associate

Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract (12 Months)
Fixed Pay Rate: $18.80/hr on W2

Schedule:

  • Monday & Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Wednesday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Payroll Processing Associate to support payroll operations and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. This role will work with payroll systems, process manual check requests, review payroll data, and communicate with internal teams to resolve payroll-related issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll-related requests and manual check transactions
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information
  • Review and analyze payroll data while maintaining confidentiality
  • Support time and labor-related activities using internal systems
  • Communicate with internal and external contacts regarding payroll inquiries
  • Assist with payroll issue resolution in a fast-paced environment
  • Learn and utilize company payroll systems and web-based applications
  • Support both union and non-union payroll processes (training provided)

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Good typing skills and familiarity with 10-key calculator/data entry
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous payroll, tax, HR, timekeeping, or accounting experience preferred
  • Experience working with payroll systems or employee data is a plus

Additional Information:

  • Onsite position in Columbus, OH
  • Training will be provided
  • Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a team environment
