Ohio Department of Public Safety - Director's Office/Information Technology (IT Support)
Report in location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223
Work Hours: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm [Monday - Friday] - Working Hours May Vary (7:00am - 3:30pm or 10:30am - 7:00pm)
PRIMARY TECHNOLOGY: SQL (SQL Server Management Tools)
SECONDARY TECHNOLOGY: Microsoft Windows

What you'll do as an Information Technologist 2:
  • Under the direction of assigned supervisor within the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS), Information Technology Office (ITO), provide Tier II maintenance & documentation support to Law Enforcement information system users &/or IT specialists & generate enhancements for existing infrastructure, software or database systems in compliance with specifications & standards.
  • Perform analyses & guide end users through troubleshooting procedures using diagnostic techniques.
  • Utilize software tools (i.e., Microsoft Tools) to inspect databases.
  • Installation & configuration of desktop software & hardware.

Qualifications
Option 1:
Completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems
AND 12 mos. combined work experience as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
Option 2:
Or 18 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: computers and/or telecommunications software/hardware, applications, support products, projects or databases for small scale systems or programs or pieces of larger systems or programs including 12 mos. combined work experience as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
