Payroll Clerk
Whitehall, OH | $28-30/hr

A well-established public-sector organization is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Clerk to join its team. This position is fully on-site and offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting payroll operations while serving as a backup to the current Payroll Administrator. Position Overview

In this role, you’ll support end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 200 employees, including both hourly and salaried staff. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment where accuracy, timeliness, and communication are essential to success.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist with full-cycle payroll processing from start to finish
  • Manage multiple payroll schedules: part-time, monthly, and full-time (biweekly)
  • Pull and review timecards using a timekeeping system, ensuring accuracy
  • Identify discrepancies and partner with supervisors to resolve issues
  • Process retirement system payments (OPERS)
  • Enter and manage payroll data within a payment portal system
What You Bring
  • 1–3 years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (basic formulas like SUM, editing columns, copy/paste functions)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
