Job description

Pagemasters North America (PMNA) is seeking a temporary part-time copy editor/paginator to join our team working in a fast-paced news environment for an American print newspaper client. This position can be done remotely from anywhere within Canada - candidates must currently live in Canada. The role requires working one to three shifts a week, primarily evenings (sometimes until 12:30 a.m. ET) and regular Saturday and Sunday shifts.

As the successful candidate, you have:

  • Solid experience copy editing, designing and proofreading print newspaper pages
  • Solid experience writing strong and accurate headlines and other display copy
  • Strong news judgment
  • The ability to get the details right while meeting daily deadlines
  • Superior customer service orientation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A background in journalism
  • Experience editing sports-related content would be an asset

We are seeking to fill one part-time position and one to two temporary part-time positions.
