Job description

Title: Assembler

Location: Columbus Ohio 43085

Duration: 6+ Months

Shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm Mon-Fri

Pay Rate $21 to $22

Job Title: Assembler (Wire person)

Job Summary

The Wire person/Assembler is responsible for assembling and wiring complex electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies. This role works closely with Engineering and Plant Management to ensure high-quality, accurate, and safe completion of electronic and mechanical assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble and wire complex electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies

Wire panels, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and cabinets

Install and route wiring, components, and cable runs

Perform electronic and mechanical assembly tasks, including:

Component layout and preparation

Cable fastening and wiring

Soldering and crimping

Handle heavy components and sub-assemblies safely

Operate hand and power tools, including:

Wrenches, screwdrivers

Soldering irons

Wire strippers and cutters

Terminal lug crimpers

Drills

Follow all company policies, including safety, attendance, and break policies

Work overtime as required

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

4+ years of experience in a similar electronic assembly or wiring role

Desired Qualifications

Strong safety awareness

Working knowledge of basic electronics

Excellent mechanical aptitude

Ability to read and use measuring devices, including:

Rulers (fractions, tenths, and hundredths of an inch)

Micrometers (thousandths of an inch)

Calipers (thousandths of an inch)

Ability to:

Read and follow work instructions

Interpret specification sheets and apply data accurately to assemblies

Medium work level:

Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally

Lift up to 20 lbs frequently

Lift up to 10 lbs continuously

Frequent physical activities including:

Stooping and crouching

Reaching in all directions

Standing for extended periods

Fine motor skills:

Fingering, grasping, and feeling components

Repetitive hand, wrist, and finger motions

Ability to:

Hear and understand spoken instructions

Communicate clearly and effectively with team members
