Internal Medicine Hospitalist

Our client in South-Central Ohio is currently seeking locum tenens Internal Medicine Hospitalist.

Requirements:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine. If Board Eligible, Residency / Fellowship training must be completed within 5 years. Family Practice trained candidates will also be considered
  • Need to have done recent inpatient work. The criteria is 30 ICU and 50 Inpatient Logs, all patients must be different, for a total of 80 in the last year. 
  • Must have active state license
  • Candidates who only want day shift be considered. And nights.
  • Candidates who do not do procedures will not considered
  • Can cover at least 4 shifts per month

Practice Details:

  • Day Shift:
    • Number of hospitalists per day shift - 2
    • Number of mid-levels per day shift – 0
    • Average census – Total of 25. Sees an average of 10-15 patients daily, plus admissions
    • Number of admits – 5
    • Hours per shift – 12 hours (Long shift) / 8-12 hours (variable shift)
    • Procedures required during day shift – Intubations, central lines when needed
    • Intensivist on during day shift – 0
  • Night Shift:
    • Number of hospitalists per night shift – 1
    • Number of mid-levels per night shift – 0
    • Average census – 25
    • Number of admits (total touches on avg) – 4
    •  Hours per shift – 12
    • Procedures required during night shift – Intubations, central lines when needed
    • Intensivist on during night shift – 0
  • Swing Shift:
    • Number of hospitalists per swing shift – 1
    • Number of mid-levels per swing shift – 0
    • Average census – Total of 25. Sees an average of 10-15 patients daily
    • Number of admits –  0 (Variable shift does not do admissions)
    • Hours per shift – 8-12
    • Procedures required during swing shift – Intubations, central lines when needed
    • Intensivist on during swing shift – 0
  • Sub-specialty back-up: Cardiology, Nephrology, Orthopedics
  • Rapid response calls required
