Position Charter

The Manufacturing Planning Systems Analyst is a technically focused role responsible for building, maintaining, and improving data-driven tools that support manufacturing planning and operations. This role emphasizes software and data development such as Python, SQL, automation, AI tools while developing foundational knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and manufacturing systems.

Reporting Relationships

The Manufacturing Planning Systems Analyst reports to the Director of Global Operations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Python-based tools and scripts to support production planning and reporting
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from ERP and related systems
  • Build data pipelines and lightweight applications to automate manual planning and reporting tasks
  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability across multiple systems and sources
  • Support development of AI-assisted tools or agent-based workflows for planning and decision support
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work using automation, scripting, or AI tools
  • Assist in prototyping decision-support tools for planners such as scenario analysis, alerts, and schedule recommendations
  • Learn and support production planning and scheduling processes
  • Maintain forecast and planning data within ERP and supporting systems
  • Partner with operations and planning teams to understand workflows and translate needs into technical solutions
  • Analyze the impact of demand changes, capacity constraints, and production performance trends
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and models to track production performance, capacity utilization, and forecast vs actual performance
  • Support root cause analysis of production issues using data
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Upholds and adheres to the Tosoh SMD culture and Guiding Principles.
  • Exhibits positivity and flexibility when assigned a new task or project.
  • Understands and adheres to all safety requirements.  Communicates identified risks to leadership and assists in resolution.
  • Completes all 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) standards to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Contributes to culture through alignment with company values and code of conduct.  Maintains a positive attitude, displays enthusiasm for assigned tasks, and communicates effectively and professionally with team members.
  • Other related duties.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data analytics, supply chain, or related field or equivalent work experience.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated capabilities in Python development, SQL, and working with relational databases
  • Demonstrated experience working with data analysis and modeling utilizing tools such as Microsoft Excel & Access.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by process.
