Job description

Summary: 

The Manufacturing Operator operates and monitors precision equipment used in lithium-ion battery prototyping. This role supports a fast-paced R&D environment by producing high-quality experimental cells while maintaining strict safety and process standards. Operators are expected to develop deep expertise in at least one process area while remaining competent across all others.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate slurry mixers, slot die coaters, calendering/slitting machines, cell assembly equipment, and battery testing
  • Prepare materials and set up equipment according to defined process parameters and SOPs
  • Monitor processes and inspect materials to ensure quality and consistency
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and routine equipment maintenance
  • Record production data, process parameters, and equipment performance
  • Follow all safety protocols, including chemical handling and PPE requirements
  • Collaborate with EHS, engineering, facilities, and R&D teams to support process development and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
  • 2+ years of experience operating manufacturing or processing equipment
  • Experience operating and using Siemens PLCs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs precisely
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
  • Experience with battery manufacturing or similar materials/process equipment preferred
  • Familiarity with coating, mixing, calendering, slitting, assembly processes, or battery testing preferred
  • Experience in prototyping, pilot-line, or R&D environments preferred
  • Knowledge of dryroom practices and quality systems preferred
