Job Title: Manager of Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
Role Overview
We are seeking a Manager of Strategic Sourcing & Category Management to lead enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives. You will serve as the strategic bridge between our internal business units and our global supplier base. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of category management-from deep-dive market analysis and requirement definition to high-stakes contract negotiation and long-term supplier performance management.
This is a high-autonomy role for a procurement professional who excels at building consensus. You will not only manage the "what" (contracts/agreements) but also the "how" (process improvement/category planning). If you are an analytical, relationship-driven leader who can navigate complex stakeholder needs and drive sustainable value, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Planning
• Category Ownership: Independently lead the development and execution of category plans. Use data-driven insights (market analysis, spend analysis, and cost modeling) to identify and capture opportunities for performance improvement and cost reduction.
• Requirements Definition: Partner with stakeholder groups to define project requirements, ensuring that the sourcing strategy aligns with the broader business objectives.
• Forecasting & Savings: Manage spend/performance forecasts, track savings targets, and report progress against organizational KPIs.
Sourcing & Supplier Management
• Strategic Sourcing: Lead complex, cross-functional sourcing initiatives from initiation through implementation. Apply rigorous project management principles to ensure timelines, scope, and quality targets are met.
• Contractual Leadership: Lead negotiations for enterprise-level agreements. Manage the full contract lifecycle, including renewals, term negotiations, and proactive issue resolution.
• Supplier Performance: Develop and maintain supplier criticality frameworks. Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with Executive Sponsors to ensure alignment on quality, diversity goals, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Influence
• Partnership Building: Act as a strategic partner to business units, building consensus across different functions to drive decision-making.
• Team Facilitation: Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams, ensuring all participants are aligned on category priorities and project outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Experience Baseline: Proven experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or complex procurement, specifically managing large-scale enterprise agreements.
• Analytical Aptitude: Expert-level ability to build cost models, conduct market research, and translate raw data into actionable business findings.
• Communication: Ability to influence leadership, manage difficult supplier negotiations, and build consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.
Preferred Attributes
• Experience working in a Shared Services or highly matrixed organization.
• A track record of driving "Value Beyond Cost"-improving quality, reliability, and supplier diversity simultaneously.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining strict adherence to project timelines.
