Job Responsibilities:
- Monitors the foreclosure of loans secured by real estate through designated law firms and vendors and updates Bank's systems timely and accurately
- Receives recommendations for foreclosure and reviews to confirm equity position, risk of loss and opportunity for Loss Mitigation and/or foreclosure
- Prepares and reviews foreclosure documents for accuracy
- Review title reports for accuracy and work through title claims
- Maintain accurate records for both internal and external audits
- Orders/recommends appraisals or inspections of properties, evaluates equity position and prepares bidding instructions for foreclosure sales
- Responsible for ensuring vacant properties are secured in a manner consistent with protecting Huntington's interest
- Continual training and understanding of the collection, foreclosure, bankruptcy, loss mitigation and mortgage servicing processes
- Ability to handle incoming phone calls from customers, law firms and internal departments
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Minimum 1 year of work experience to include knowledge of foreclosure documents and the court/legal process of foreclosure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of foreclosure documents and the court/legal process of foreclosure
- Excellence in customer service; highly motivated, focused and goal oriented
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, planning and follow-up
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- MS Office and internet proficiency
- Must have excellent written and verbal (face-to-face and phone) communication skills including professional grammar and demeanor
- Paralegal Certificate
- Bachelor or Associate degree
- 2 years previous foreclosure experience
- Prior default servicing experience
- Proven experience in a decision making role
