Job description

Our number one general contractor client has an immediate opening for a 2+ year construction estimator to sit out of their office in The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring all aspects of the project are considered, and providing support for the successful completion of construction projects on time and within budget.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Identify project risks and propose solutions to mitigate cost overruns.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to track project progress and adjust estimates as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure project cost control and efficiency.
  • Review project proposals and specifications to determine the scope of work.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost breakdowns and budgets for the project.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, material, and overhead costs.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, costs of materials, and local construction regulations.


Requirements:

  • 5+years as a Construction Estimator, with knowledge of construction processes, materials, and pricing.
  • Project type: Commercial, Healthcare, or Light Industrial
  • Strong knowledge of construction software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar tools).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
