Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to join our team in Columbus. This role is integral to the effective management of residential properties, ensuring smooth operations, exceptional tenant relations, and compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, property management experience, and a solid understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks such as Fair Housing laws. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth within a dynamic real estate environment.

Duties

  • Assist in managing daily property operations, including leasing, renewals, and move-ins/move-outs
  • Coordinate property maintenance and facilities management to ensure optimal condition of properties
  • Handle tenant inquiries and resolve conflicts with professionalism and tact
  • Maintain accurate data entry and filing systems for lease agreements, contracts, and legal documentation
  • Utilize property management software such as I Love Leasing and Rent Manager for leasing, accounting, and reporting purposes
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant laws
  • Support marketing efforts through upselling available units and promoting property amenities to prospective tenants
  • Prepare legal administrative documents related to contracts and lease agreements
  • Conduct regular inspections and oversee property upkeep in collaboration with maintenance teams
  • Manage customer relationships through effective phone etiquette, CRM systems, and personalized service

Experience

  • Prior experience in property management or real estate administrative roles is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Landlord-Tenant law is advantageous
  • Experience with property management software is desirable
  • Strong understanding of Fair Housing regulations and legal compliance in property leasing
  • Proven customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict management effectively
  • Office experience including data entry, filing, contract management, and administrative support
  • Familiarity with facilities management systems
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to upsell units or services effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in legal documentation and data management
