Role Overview

The Data Center Learning and Development Business Partner is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving learning strategies and training programs that support the operational excellence, safety, and technical proficiency of data center personnel. This role ensures that all employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to manage critical infrastructure effectively.

This role is key in driving workforce capability, compliance, and performance through structured learning strategies aligned with business objectives and industry standards.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with data center operational teams, health and safety and HR teams to identify workforce capability requirements.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data center training strategy aligned with organizational goals, ensuring learning programs are scalable and aligned to future skills requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive training needs analysis across data center operations and analyze workforce capability data, skills assessments, operational metrics, audit findings, and employee feedback to identify development priorities.
  • Create blended learning solutions (classroom, e-learning, simulations, on-the-job training).
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of training programs and learning initiatives across multiple data center locations.
  • Maintain training schedules, learning pathways, and certification frameworks and records for audit purposes
  • Monitor and report on training effectiveness using KPIs (completion rates, skill assessments, operational performance).
  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure training content is technically accurate and up to date.
  • Collaborate with technical experts to establish competency frameworks and role-based development pathways.
  • Ensure all training programs meet regulatory, compliance, and safety requirements.
  • Lead and develop a team of trainers
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with operational leaders and subject matter experts, acting as an advisor on workforce capability and development matters.
  • Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition teams,  and organizational leaders to deliver integrated people solutions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • 5+ years experience in learning and development, preferably within the technology sector
  • Proven experience designing and delivering learning programs, with expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS), specifically record management, content management and reporting
  • Experience working in fast paced operational environments, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong project management skills and excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Strong in-person and virtual facilitation skills

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • Proven people management experience
  • Train the trainer or learning and development certifications
  • Coaching qualifications
  • Experience using Tableau, or other data visualization tools
  • Experience with e-learning content authoring platforms e.g. Articulate, Vyond, Canva, etc
