Squash ProfessionalThe Athletic Club of Columbus is seeking a Squash Professional to lead and continue developing a strong, active squash community of over 200 co-ed players.The ACC Squash program features highly successful Wednesday and Thursday night team leagues, junior programming, club tournaments, travel competition, lessons, clinics, and social events. While competition is an important part of our program, camaraderie, sportsmanship, and creating an enjoyable experience for our members are equally important.We are looking for a Squash Professional who can build relationships with members, support our member-run leagues, expand our junior program, develop players of all ages and skill levels, and help grow participation throughout the program.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the member leaders who organize and operate our men's and women's leagues, including our Wednesday and Thursday night team leagues.Serve as the Club's primary squash professional and point of contact for members.Manage and coordinate ACC's adult and junior travel tournaments, including travel to other clubs when necessary.Organize and administer Club Championship tournaments and other squash events throughout the year.Develop and expand junior squash programming, including clinics, lessons, camps, and competitive opportunities.Provide private and group instruction for adults and juniors across a wide range of skill levels.Help introduce new players to the game and create pathways for them to become active participants in the ACC squash community.Advise members on racquets, equipment, apparel, and other squash-related purchases.Develop clinics, events, and programming that increase participation and engagement.Communicate effectively with members, league leaders, parents, visiting clubs, and ACC staff.Maintain an organized and professional squash operation.Court SpecificationsPlease note: ACC's four squash courts are non-regulation courts measuring 32' x 16'. The Squash Professional must be comfortable teaching, programming, and developing players within these dimensions.QualificationsPassionate teacher who enjoys working with players of different ages and ability levels.Strong understanding of squash fundamentals, strategy, player development, and instruction.Ability to teach newer players while also working effectively with experienced and competitive players.Interest and ability in growing a successful junior squash program.Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.Able to work collaboratively with member-run leagues and volunteer league leadership.Able to develop programs, organize tournaments, and complete projects in a timely manner.Comfortable working in a private club environment where service and member relationships are important.Flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, tournaments, and travel.CompensationThe Club will provide a base salary and benefits, with significant additional earning potential through private and group lessons.We anticipate total first-year earnings in the range of $50,000 to $70,000, with the opportunity for stronger income growth for a well-organized professional who develops a robust lesson schedule, expands junior programming, and creates additional instructional opportunities.BenefitsHealth insurance401(k) retirement planDaily employee mealsFree parkingAdditional Club employee benefitsAbout the Athletic Club of ColumbusThe Athletic Club of Columbus (ACC) is an iconic private club located in downtown Columbus, Ohio.
