Position Summary:

CVG, a leader in full-service product development and manufacturing, seeks a strategic and growth-oriented Account Manager to own and expand relationships within our key OEM client portfolio. This pivotal role is not just about maintaining accounts; it's about becoming a trusted partner who uncovers new opportunities, drives revenue growth, and ensures the flawless execution of custom plastic solutions-from injection and compression molding to value-add assemblies. You will be the primary link between our clients and our cross-functional teams, directly impacting customer success and our company's growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Account Leadership (40%)

  • Serve as the primary strategic contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of existing OEM clients, building long-term partnerships to ensure their needs are met and satisfaction is high.

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve and exceed sales targets, expand market share within each account, and maximize customer lifetime value.

  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients to assess performance, identify new needs and opportunities, and align CVG's capabilities with their evolving roadmaps.

Revenue Growth & Business Development (30%)

  • Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue new sales opportunitieswithin existing accounts(upsell/cross-sell) andthrough targeted prospecting within the OEM space.

  • Lead the full sales cycle from initial opportunity through RFQ analysis, proposal development, negotiation of contracts and pricing, and successful closure.

  • Utilize industry networking, disciplined cold outreach, and market analysis to build a robust pipeline that supports growth objectives.

Collaborative Project Execution & Support (20%)

  • Collaborate seamlessly with internal cross-functional teams (Engineering, Production, Logistics, Quality) to ensure the successful launch, delivery, and ongoing support of projects, acting as the client's advocate internally.

  • Provide exceptional post-sales support by resolving issues, addressing inquiries, and ensuring smooth project execution to guarantee customer success.

  • Support internal team to resolve customer related issues timely and effectively.

Market Intelligence & Operations (10%)

  • Maintain and prepare regular sales forecasts and activity reports for management.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions to inform strategy and identify potential opportunities or threats.

  • Travel as needed (up to 20%) to client sites, production facilities, and industry events.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of account management or inside sales experience, preferably in plastics or with a track record of developing new clientele in B2B OEM industries. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships.

Additional Qualifications for Success:

  • Skills: Creative problem-solving, influencing skills, strong organizational and time management abilities, self-starter with initiative, excellent written and oral communication, business analytical skills, strategic thinking, proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems.
  • Knowledge: Strong familiarity with account management, RFQ process, and financial impact assessment. Preferably knowledgeable about injection molding custom solutions in plastics (including tooling).
  • Abilities: Willingness to travel 20%, work independently or within a team, solve practical problems, collaborate with customers and internal departments, and think strategically.
  • Effective communication across customer hierarchies and functions of major OEM companies.
  • Proven track record of winning new business and nurturing relationships.
  • High proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to understand and convey technical information effectively.
  • Skilled negotiator with a strong understanding of the industrial or contract manufacturing industry.
