American Structurepoint's Bridge Group is seeking candidates to join us for our summer internship program in Columbus, OH. As a Bridge intern, you'll work with a diverse team of designers, engineers and project managers on a variety of bridge projects to develop them from concept to final design. The daily duties would include assisting the assigned project team with developing bridge scoping reports, bridge hydraulic design for waterway structures, designing key components of the bridge for the substructure and superstructure including the riding surface. Responsibilities
What you will do:
  • Support bridge design projects by assisting with hydraulic modeling, site assessments, and the development of engineering reports
  • Work with a variety of industry tools such as MicroStation/GEOPAK, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, OpenBridge, Merlin Dash, and QuickBridge to create 3D models and project deliverables
  • Gain hands-on experience across a range of project types, including bridge replacements and rehabilitations, urban and rural roadway improvements, and major interstate upgrades
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction, or Structural Engineering, Land Surveying, or a related field with a focus on civil infrastructure
  • Reliable transportation to and from the office or local project sites
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a strong work ethic and openness to new experiences and challenges
