Responsibilities

The primary goal is satisfying customer requirements of quality, quantity, and delivery, in a safe manner, while maximizing productivity. Specifically, the Material Processor Iis responsible for all job activities required to support production processes. These activities include but are not limited to: Machine operation, cutting, sawing, drilling, tapping, grinding parts, prepping kits, and lay-outs to meet our customer specifications. Employee is responsible for visually inspecting parts. 

Other responsibilities: 

  • Follows all plant safety guidelines, practices and procedures. Also, be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work area  
  • Properly use personal protective equipment when required 
  • Maintain regular attendance - have reliable means of transportation 
  • Perform other tasks as assigned 
Qualifications

Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable.  

  • Must have intermediate blueprint reading knowledge and the ability to follow the work order instructions 
  • Ability to properly use material processing tools and machines such as drill presses, punches, saws, and layout tools. 
  • Forklift, overhead crane and man lift experience preferred (in-house training available) 
  • Must be able to pass a background check and pre employment drug test 
  • Team player - must be able to communicate and work with others  
  • Must have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goals  
  • Attentive to detail watching for material defects and any quality issues. 
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and twisting throughout shift 
  • Capable of repetitively lifting 25-50 lbs. 
  • Candidates must be flexible to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and/or holidays 

Work Environment 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in typical manufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts.  
  • Overhead LED lights throughout the workspace create a bright workspace for employees to safely perform their work. 
  • Normally clean work environment where the process creates some grinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors, and vibration. Housekeeping is performed as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is normal to manufacturing processes with air tools, grinders, and other tools. Yearly audiometric testing is provided by the company to monitor areas for improvement. 
  • Non-climate-controlled facility in the summer, each work area is provided with fans to help keep cool. In the winter it is heated. 

Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent 

1-3 experience processing material in a manufacturing environment 

Prior machine operation experience desirable
